The society was initially started its operation in a corner of Rural Library building in the heart of Brahmanpara by issuance of crop loan to a few member farmers of the society . The society had no won building nor any employee . Four villages named Benapara ,Balarampur ,Kamdarkula, and Khanpur Came under the fold of the society in the year 1971.Busniss activities i.e delivery of Short term agriculture credit ,of the society increased to same extent and one employee designated as manager was engaged in the year 1973. Consumer's wing of the Society was opened for distribution of both controlled and non-controlled items in the year 1976.

The Society mobilises members' deposit to great extent with a Customer Service Point of WBSCB Ltd at its premises. The Society has been running Custom Hiring Centre, Rural Water Project, Agricultural product procurement Centre, stores for different consumers' articles etc. successfully for years. The Society is a wholesale dealer in IFFCO and BENFED fertilisers and large scale procurer of agril produces. Keeping the increasing need of storage spaces, a 1000 MT godown is presently being established under RIDF in addition to the existing storage space, measuring 1800 MT in total.

It was started by the 45 member, but now the member has 1603. Initially this society act as a non-deposit credit society but now it provides all kinds of deposit facility through CSP project. The members of Murakata skus ltd. getting C.B.S banking (NEFT/RTGS) facility. This PACS provides C.H.C to the local farmer at cheap rate. This PACS has 37 mouzas, but most of the area covered by forest.
